At the beginning, Robert is portrayed as a quiet and insecure student who is often bullied by his classmates. However, as the Wave movement gains momentum in the school, Robert becomes more confident and assertive. He becomes one of the most enthusiastic supporters of the Wave, even going as far as to report his own classmates for not following the Wave's rules. This development showcases how easily individuals can be influenced by group dynamics and the dangers of blindly following a charismatic leader. **
